Recycled Materials in Design

A talk about the use of recycled materials within interior design and focusses on the importance of environmentally responsible design and how it can be achieved in the context of interior design.

We will discuss the negative impact that traditional interior design practices can have on the environment, such as the use of non-renewable resources and high levels of waste. And we will look at the benefits of sustainable design, including reduced environmental impact, and enhanced occupant well-being.

Emerging and Unconventional Technologies: Design Ideas

Get inspired with this look at the public art and interior work of artists working with techniques like CNC routing, carving, 3D printing, and circuit design. Features a brief slideshow and Q&A with the artists.

Wheel Demo: Large Clay Vessels

Sit in to view artist Joe Hicks demonstrate techniques for throwing large vessels and learn about the ceramic process of forming and firing. He’ll discuss his methods and ideas in his work and his interest in developing and using historical glazes to make contemporary work.
